Anderson Strathern Asset Management (ASAM) said it has made its first senior appointment under Managing Director Arlene Ewing’s plans to grow the firm’s team and services across Scotland.

The company said Jamie Daniels joins as Senior Investment Director, bringing over 20 years’ experience managing investment portfolios for private clients, trusts and charities. ASAM said he arrives from Blackadders Wealth Management, where he was Head of Investment Management, delivering an investment proposition to clients while working closely with the associated law firm.

ASAM said Daniels is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) and will be based in Edinburgh, working with clients across Scotland. The firm said it provides financial planning and discretionary investment management services as part of the wider Anderson Strathern group, working closely with the law firm’s legal teams.

Arlene Ewing, Managing Director of ASAM, said: “It’s an exciting time at ASAM as we focus on growing the business. We have a strong team of investment managers, and we want to build on that expertise while working more closely with our colleagues across Anderson Strathern.”

Daniels said: “Anderson Strathern’s strength is that clients can draw on investment and legal expertise under one roof. I’m looking forward to building on that offering and helping clients make joined-up decisions about their wealth.”

ASAM said that as consolidation continues across the wealth management industry, the firm’s independence allows it to focus on clients’ needs first, which it said was a key factor behind the move. The company added that Daniels has managed client investment portfolios through both strong and challenging markets.

ASAM also said Daniels is actively involved with Future Asset as a judge and mentor, an initiative aimed at empowering young women with the confidence, skills and insight to explore careers in financial services.
