For fleets, 21 of the 35 forecourts selling diesel told Fuel Finder they sell fuel 24 hours a day, and 4 have AdBlue at the pump. None of them listed HVO renewable diesel.

Across Scotland, diesel averaged 200.0p and unleaded 174.4p on the same figures, and like for like diesel fell by an average of 0.2p over the week across 411 forecourts.

How the figures were worked out

The figures come from Fuel Finder, the government scheme under which every UK forecourt must report its prices within 30 minutes of a change, published as open data under the Open Government Licence. British Fuel Prices records the feed several times a day. Averages cover the forecourts on its Edinburgh page that reported a price in the 14 days to 22 October 2026; older prices are left out. The Edinburgh area is the 16 EH postcode districts on that page, so it reaches beyond the city council boundary. Weekly changes compare the same forecourts’ prices at both dates. Prices are pump prices in pence per litre, including duty and VAT.
