Global payroll, mobility, tax, HR and payments specialist activpayroll officially opened a new office in Kochi, India, on 1 October 2026, the company said.

The launch marks what activpayroll described as an important step in its continued international expansion, establishing a long-term base from which it can invest in talent, capability and future opportunities in India.

The company said India represents a significant opportunity, citing the country’s growing economy, skilled workforce and developing technology and professional services sectors. A significant proportion of activpayroll’s global customer base has operations in India, with many also having senior leadership and management teams based in the country, according to the company.

The new office will initially support activpayroll’s global operations, with plans to grow the team and broaden the capabilities delivered from India over time, the company said. The operation will start with an experienced activpayroll team already familiar with the company, its customers and its ways of working, with several long-standing colleagues playing leading roles in establishing the hub.

Kochi becomes activpayroll’s first operational hub in India, adding to its established international footprint, the company said.

The opening was marked by a ceremony attended by activpayroll leaders, employees and invited guests, including Susanth Kurunthil, CEO of Infopark, and Jacob Sebastian, Senior Trade Advisor - Financial Services at the British Deputy High Commission, Bengaluru, who attended as Guests of Honour.

Leadership comment

Gary Henderson, CEO of activpayroll, said: “Opening in Kochi is about much more than adding another location to our global footprint. We see a real opportunity to build something significant in India, while continuing the international expansion of activpayroll more broadly.”

He added: “India is also part of a wider story for activpayroll. We intend to continue investing internationally, both by expanding our presence in existing markets and by identifying further geographies where we can get closer to our customers, access strong talent and build new capability.”

The company said the India operation is being led by Kimberly Morrison, Middle East & South Africa Payroll Operations Manager, who is overseeing the establishment and development of the Kochi team, with Manish Mehta, Regional Director of Payroll Operations and Head of Global Support Services APAC, supporting the growth of the hub within activpayroll’s wider APAC structure.

activpayroll describes itself as a global professional services organisation delivering payroll, mobility, tax, HR and international payment solutions to over 500 companies across more than 150 countries.
